Y’all Means All: Pledge to Stand Up for LGBTQIA+ Equality

Sign your name to say you support equality for all LGBTQIA+ individuals and condemn attacks by Texas lawmakers against the community.

Texas has no statewide law that explicitly protects LGBTQIA+ Texans from discrimination. What this means is that in many parts of the state, Texans can be fired or discriminated against due to their sexual orientation or gender expression.

Texas can be a state where every Texan is treated with dignity and full equality. We need laws that protect lesbian, gay, transgender, and bisexual Texans from discrimination in jobs, adoption and family planning.

As misguided lawmakers debate the rights of LGBTQIA+ folks, we need your voice to show them we will not stand for these attacks.

Sign your name to say you are with the majority of Texans who believe LGBTQIA+ people deserve equality and to be treated with the same dignity as everyone else.

Background

Texas Republicans have a history of creating homophobic and transphobic legislation. This legislative session is no different.

The Texas Senate recently voted to pass Senate Bill 17, which if made into law, would allow occupational license holders to turn away or refuse services to LGBTQIA+ people or people of different faiths due to “sincerely held religious beliefs.”

While bills have been introduced that would provide comprehensive protections for LGBTQIA+ Texans in state nondiscrimination laws such as SB 151, HB 244, HB 254, and HB 2692, Texas Republicans and Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick have instead prioritized anti-LGBTQIA+ bills like SB 17, which weaponizes religion freedom to hurt fellow Texans.

Sign the petition to show that Texans are here, queer, and we’re not going anywhere.
