Petition: Convict Trump and Evict Cruz

Joe Biden won the presidential election, fair and square. And yet Donald Trump, enabled by "Traitor Ted" Cruz and Texas Republicans, spread lies claiming the election was fraudulent.
On January 6, 2021, as Congress convened to certify the results of the presidential election, Trump incited an attack on the Capitol intending to halt the counting of Electoral College votes. Hundreds of domestic terrorists rioted at the US Capitol, which led to a member of the Capitol Police being killed, sent our leaders into hiding, briefly prevented the peaceful transfer of power, and desecrated one of the most sacred buildings in the country.
Immediately following the attack, Republicans attempted to falsely blame other entities, then called for unity by telling Americans to “move on.” There can be no unity without accountability. If there are no consequences for sedition, violence, and murder, what is to stop it from happening again? Donald Trump, Traitor Ted, and all the elected officials who incited this attack must face the consequences of their actions.

Background
Since November 3, Republicans, led by Donald Trump, have challenged the results of the presidential election. Trump and his allies have claimed voter fraud and filed more than 60 lawsuits - all without evidence. They have lost at every turn.
Sadly, Texans like Traitor Ted Cruz have egged him on, spreading misinformation and vowing to reject the certification of the presidential election. Traitor Ted boasted about his intent to challenge to the election on the floor of the US Senate. And then, on the evening after the failed insurrection, when Cruz saw the consequences of his rhetoric and had an opportunity to put it aside, he continued with his disgraceful sideshow.
Together they incited the first attack on the U.S. Capitol since 1812, and five people are dead. Republicans are now shrugging it off, trying to avoid the consequences, and telling Americans to move on.
There can be no unity without accountability and consequences.
